IFG Monthly Meeting report – 16 07 17
Trish introduced the meeting then Jenny Leiman, President of Hadassah International NZ, spoke informatively about the work of Hadassah International and the extraordinary facilities they have been able to provide at the main campuses in Jerusalem. Jenny also spoke about the plan to build a ‘New Zealand” room and the fund raising required to raise the $US18,000 to equip it. Our visit to the Synagogue will help this if we each contribute $20 per ticket, which Trish will issue. Rosemary also spoke about the work, and Grant gave us a very interesting talk about his proposed trip to Israel and the voluntary work he will do with groups like Sar El. He will be away 9 months and will motor bike through Europe to Israel where he will also participate in the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem and the commemorative re-enactment of the charge of the Australian light horse against the Turkish positions at Beersheba, probably the world’s last successful cavalry charge of its kind.
As always a very positive time of networking occurred, accompanied by afternoon tea.
