SONYA AVDISH

As the result of antisemitism, when she was 5 years old Sonya, with her parents & sister fled to Israel from the City of Krasnyi Luch, South East Ukraine.

Sonya grew up in Arad, a small town near the Dead Sea. She was educated from Primary to High School in Arad & then went on to achieve a BA in Social Sciences at the Negev campus of the Open University of Israel.

In November 2015, Slava her husband arrived in New Zealand followed by Sonya and their 3 children in March 2016. They now have 4 children & live on the North Shore.

In Israel & here in New Zealand Sonya has always endeavoured to contribute to the wellbeing of her fellow Jews & is pleased to say that the family is so grateful to live & contribute here in our beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand. Currently Sonya is in a volunteer position as a Vice President of the Zionist Federation of New Zealand.
