Greetings to all our Israel Focus Group Friends,

“Thank you to everyone who came out Thursday 3 October. It was so wonderful to have a sea of friendly faces in the room. And thanks also to everyone who watched online and sent in messages of support.
I know I missed some opportunities and could have said some things better and I will [if there is a] next time. But all those gaffs and lapses are mine and mine alone. And I welcome feedback to continue to improve.

A video of the event is available on The Daily Blog website. We recorded our own copy and that will be available soon on the IINZ website (israelinstitute.nz) - and if you want an email reminder, sign up to our newsletter :)
Thank you again to everyone.
David”
Debate between David Cumin and John Minto Thursday 3rd October 2019
Diarise Thursday, 3rd October at 7pm at the University of Auckland business school.
A while ago via the medium of letters to The Press editor, Mr John Minto challenged me to a public debate on issues around Israel. Given that Mr Minto has got media attention for his views, seems to be influencing some of our MPs, and is interim chair of a revamped anti-Israel group; and not wanting to be seen to be shying away from discussion, I accepted. It is important that his radical ideas are challenged. We have now agreed that the venue will be in Auckland and the moderator will be Ward Kamo (who was also the Maori TV host when I went on with Roger Fowler). And it will be on the evening Oct 3rd. Rather than agree to debate, and thus give some credence, to any moot that may demonise Israel, the topic is “Different Perspectives on Israel”.
It will be at the University of Auckland, Business School, 12 Grafton Road, Room 260-051 on Thursday, 3rd October at 7pm
